Do you scramble around in the morning? No specific schedule? This was me before realizing the activities  I enjoyed and were passionate about were frequently pushed aside. It’s easy to begin the day by putting out fires. The worst thing you can do is look at your phone the first hour of waking.  There’s a risk of losing your true self. You’re now focusing on everyone else beside yourself.  Even though my mentors including Mel Robbins tells everyone to NEVER start the day reading emails, and social media, I did. I bet most of you out there do.  I was hamster on a wheel all day without much to show for it. It was time to get serious about setting a specific time schedule and sticking with it if my plan was to move forward.

What a difference this has made in my life. Why not begin the day with what “fills you up?” Before looking at my schedule for the day,  I begin my mornings with prayer, writing down the things I am grateful for,  journal,  followed by writing down my short and long term goals. Next, I review my schedule and prioritize my day. This has made a huge difference. My emails, texts and social media now wait until I’m showered and ready to present to the world! Having a specific schedule and sticking to it has allowed for the time to work out almost every day!  Think about it, reading emails, texts and voice mails are necessary for most of us. Why not place yourself in a positive mindset before tackling them?   Fill yourself up with what is important to you NOT others. You will be happy and more effective.
